5.2.19 Pesky Plateau

It is finally May. Fourth of July is two months away. That holiday where the attire is tank tops, swim suits, flip flops, and shorts….so many shorts.

This is not the time we want to experience a pesky plateau right? That scale can be your BFF, or your dream crusher. I have divorced my scale by the way, and I’m much happier.

Here’s the thing…the scale is only ONE measure, and it can sink your IF attitude if you let it. Take selfies and measurements to gauge your progress. They can change when the dial on the scale gets stuck. Keep on keeping on but be honest with yourself. When I plateau, I look inward. Are my portions larger than they should be for my trigger foods (nuts and cheese)? Have my carb choices creeped to a higher level than I need? Has my window grown larger than I need for my own sweet spot? Is my sleep out of whack stalling my weight loss?

Curtailing my portions of nuts and cheese, an occasional 48 hour fast to refocus, and being even more mindful regarding my carb choices, helps me pound through that pesky plateau. What have you experienced?
